In our group we have a varied programme including conversations/ discussions, reading topical articles or short stories and translating them, listening exercises/ podcasts/ videos, grammar sessions, games to help us learn. The book Nuovo Espresso 3 aids us. This means we cover a wide variety of topics e.g. Italian history, geography, culture, science, current affairs so members need to be reasonably confident in having a conversation and need an adequate level of Italian to be able to participate though we always help each other out when stuck for a word or phrase - competent but still not fluent.

We roughly span levels A2 and B1 as in the Common European Framework for Languages.
