Italian Intermediate Conversation

Status:Active, full but can join waiting list
Contact:
When: Fortnightly on Wednesday mornings 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Venue: Member's Homes

Our group is for intermediate Italian conversation (probably A2-B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages). This means you can probably carry on a simple conversation, will have practised all the simple holiday situation conversations, and will be looking to expand your vocabulary and speaking experience.

We are a friendly group and our meetings are every 2 weeks, which means the dates are not fixed every month. Meetings usually start with a period of conversation, where members relate any notable events since the last meeting. Sometimes we prepare a short piece, perhaps 200-250 words on an agreed subject, which members read out to the group and we then consider. We may read an article in Italian, listen to a popular song in Italian and
consider the lyrics, we may do an Italian crossword (of medium difficulty), etc. We help each other with grammar and pronunciation, and with examples of word usage. The two leaders are one Irish/Italian and one near native speaker.

Members invariably bring or offer coffee/tea and cakes so the occasion is also quite social. We meet in members’ houses around Banstead / South Sutton.
For more information send a message to the Group Administrator. We can then advise you of the dates and venues of the forthcoming meetings. A brief statement of your interest in Italian would be useful.

For more information send a message to the Philip Wallace. Please include within your message details of the specific group you are interested in. Please also include your phone no.
